Day #13, October 12, 2016 - Oil Change and Zep Sandwich!

Today, Nick and Ellie had their grandkids, Ava and Zach for the day. This gave me and Earline a chance to get the oil changed in the Armada and for me to sample some "comfort food" from my days in Phoenixville. There is a place called "The Haven" that makes the best hoagie sandwiches, called Zeps in our area. I planed a trip there after the oil change.

The oil and cabin filter change was much cheaper than performing this in Santa Cruz. The cost was $64.30 with the cabin filter costing $18.99. In Santa Cruz this service would be $98.00.

Following the oil change, Earline and I met with my high school friend, Sharon, who was in charge of the 55th high school class reunion that was held about two weeks ago. I was unable to make that event unfortunately, but she did give me a contact list of those who attended. It was nice to catch up on things, as the numbers of Phoenixville Area High School graduates is rapidly diminishing.

I then called my friend, Denton, to meet us at Bob's Haven for lunch. I had my comfort food of a Zep (Hoagie or Italian sandwich for you readers not from my area) while Earline had a Veggie Stromboli. She is so disciplined.

We drove back to Honey Brook and got ready to go to dinner at the Appalachian Brewery in Collegeville. There we met my sister Kathy, and her husband, Mike,  and Art whom we haven't seen for two years. I have known Art since he was about 4 years of age, and it was the first time that we met his significant other, Lisa. It was a nice reunion. I did note there was "Birch Beer" being sold there. This is a drink virtually unknown outside of Pennsylvania.

In the morning, we are going to Bethany Beach, NJ to spend a couple of days before leaving the Pennsylvania area on Sunday.
